Equipment

Hats

All children should wear a riding hat approved to the current standards at all times when riding the horses or when handling young horses.

Clothing

Children should all have fully waterproof clothing available when at the stables due to the unpredictable nature of the UK weather.

Boots

All children should wear proper riding boots with heels.

Back Protectors

It is advised that all children should wear back protectors when riding to reduce the risk of injury should they fall off.

It is compulsory when jumping.

Whips

For riding most horses the children will need “schooling whips”  preferably  90cm in length.

Medical / First-aid kit

Each loaner needs to provide a first aid kit for the loaned hose.  This kit will comprise:

·         Cotton wool
·         Scissors
·         Vet rap (preferably 6” size) - as per horse colour
·         Insulating tape  - as per horse colour
·         Animalintex
