There are two levels of parental approval for children under 16 year to be able to join a ride out. The first is for them to join a ride out when an adult is taking the ride out (Supervised). The second is where only children are going on the ride out (Un-supervised).
Please note that no child will be allowed to go on a ride until Shelleen Valley EC staff are comfortable that the competence of the ride is sufficient to remain safe.
All children who go out on rides must take out rider insurance.
The Adult in charge will determine the route for the ride, although this may be amended during the ride depending on circumstances. These rides may involve riding on the normal roads, as well as bridal paths and farmland.
A member of Shelleen Valley EC will define the route of the ride before the ride departs. The defined route must be followed The route will be a mixture of bridal paths and farmland, and will not involve riding on normal roads.
The leader and the last person in the ride must be competent in managing the ride and using all necessary signals, including directing of other road users.
All riders MUST wear high visibility jackets when out on a ride.
